What is Dosium?

Founded by a doctor and a team of patient safety experts, Dosium is on a mission to reduce avoidable harm caused by prescribing errors, which is a widespread, yet preventable, issue.

Medication errors, of which prescribing errors are a subset, are responsible for over 1,700 deaths in Britain—comparable to the number of fatalities from road traffic accidents.

Dosium is transforming how medicines are prescribed to make healthcare smarter, safer, and more reliable. Founded by a team of patient safety experts at Imperial College London, we combine clinical insight with cutting-edge technology to tackle medication errors. Our leading product, Touchdose, is the only system fully integrated with the British National Formulary (BNF), providing accurate, patient-specific dosing recommendations in real time.

Touchdose integrates with electronic prescribing systems to calculate the right dose for any drug and indication for use—factoring in frequency, duration, and route of administration—while embedding local prescribing guidelines.

Backed by investment from the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and born out of Imperial College London’s Institute of Global Health Innovation, Touchdose is designed to scale across entire health systems. It utilises insights from trauma and critical care units to helps reduce clinician workload, improve prescribing accuracy, and prevent thousands of medication-related injuries and deaths each year.
