Following a competitive judging period, we are pleased to announce that Dosium has been shortlisted in the “most effective contribution to clinical redesign” category of the HSJ Partnership Awards, in collaboration with West London Children’s Healthcare and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
The awards recognise “outstanding dedication to improving healthcare and effective collaboration with the NHS.” In this, their eighth year, they have become one of the the most respected marks of strong relationships between suppliers and the NHS.
The shortlist highlights how Dosium’s Touchdose, developed in collaboration with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, integrates the British National Formulary (BNF) and local guidelines directly into electronic prescribing systems to reduce prescribing errors by up to 84%. Touchdose is being deployed across West London Children’s Healthcare, where clinician feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and ongoing evaluations project significant financial savings, potentially reaching millions of pounds.
Nicholas Appelbaum, CEO and Co-Founder of Dosium, said:
Making the finalist list is huge recognition of the hard work our collective teams have put into developing and rolling out Dosium. Half a million children in the capital will soon feel the benefits of safer prescribing, and we are looking forward to sharing more on this project’s impact soon.
We hope that in sharing our story, others will be encouraged to rollout Touchdose to enhance prescribing safety and efficiency, prevent thousands of avoidable deaths, and significantly reduce healthcare costs.
The winners will be announced on 20th March 2025.
The 2025 awards judging panel was made up of a range of respected figures within the healthcare community, including; May Mengyu Li, Director of Efficiency at NHS England, Janos Suto, Deputy Director, Urgent and Emergency Care Analysis and Performance at DHSC, Amanda Pleavin, Managing Director at East of England Cancer Alliance, Jacqui Bunce, Programme Director of Strategic Partnerships, Planning and Estates at Lincolnshire ICS, and Alan Duffell, Group Chief People Officer at The Royal Wolverhampton & Walsall Healthcare Trusts.
