Today, the prestigious NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) announced the latest cohort of company heads joining its three-year Fellowship, with Dosium’s co-Founder and CEO, Nicholas Appelbaum, among its select number.

Funded by NHS England and recognised by the Financial Times as one of the leading “start-up hubs” in Europe, the NIA’s purpose is to scale proven healthcare innovations across the NHS. Its ultimate goal is to improve patient care and support staff. The selection process is particularly rigorous, taking several months and involving a panel of some of the UK’s most senior healthcare professionals.

Nicholas and the Dosium team will benefit from support to further scale Touchdose across the NHS, working with NIA mentors and advisors.

Speaking at the NIA launch event at Rewired, Nicholas Appelbaum, CEO and Co-Founder of Dosium, said:
“Being accepted onto the NIA is a real NHS stamp of approval, and recognition of the impact Touchdose can have on prescribing safety nationwide. Our hope is that the NIA team and their wider network of mentors and advisors will guide us to scale Touchdose more efficiently, so that prescribing errors are reduced in every setting, and patients receive the same standard of care - regardless of where they are treated.”
Professor Sir Stephen Powis, National Medical Director of NHS England and Chair of the NHS Innovation Accelerator said:
“The future success of the NHS lies in harnessing innovation and adopting new ways of working to enable more efficient and best-practice healthcare delivery. Congratulations to the 28 innovators that make up this 2025 cohort – this Fellowship is a fantastic opportunity to develop, accelerate and deliver solutions to enhance our NHS and improve patient care and staff experience.”
