Chelsea and Westminster Hospital goes live with Touchdose

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has officially gone live with across all paediatric areas at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

The rollout is part of a phased go-live across the whole of West London Children’s Healthcare. Touchdose went live at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust last summer, and has been shown to reduce prescribing errors by an average of 86% where it is used. West Middlesex University Hospital is due to go live with the system at the start of April.

How it works

Touchdose automatically calculates the correct dosage of any drug for any patient and indication, including frequency, duration, and route of administration, and integrates local guidelines for real-time decision support.

The system offers a safer alternative to manual methods like mental arithmetic or unregulated apps, and avoids overwhelming clinicians with excessive alerts that don’t enhance safety.
